The Genoa Club

The Genoa Club is a fondly remembered Clemson watering hole that was located on the edge of Lake Hartwell in Clemson. Its logo was a stylized sail reflecting on ripples on a round field. A private club, it offered reduced student memberships of $5. An advert in the January 30, 1987 issue of The Tiger (page 18), offered $1 vodka drinks on Wednesday, $1.50 bar brands on Thursday, and free chicken wings at 5 p.m. on Friday, "while they last." Being a private club, they were open seven days a week.

The business changed ownership in the early 1990s and became [[The Skybox]], operating with that name by 1996.
