Osaka Express

Osaka Express is an eat-in or carry-out fast food restaurant in Victoria Square that features Japanese cuisine.

A fairly straight-forward menu offers both all-day specials, and combination meals, all cooked to order. All specials include Fried Rice and Sweet Carrots.

The menu offers Osaka Vegetables, Hibachi Chicken, Hibachi Steak, Hibachi Filet Mignon, Hibachi Shrimp, Hibachi Scallops, Osaka Tilapia, Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Steak and Mahi Mahi. Nine combinations of the previously listed ingredients are also offered. The prices are modest, given the ingredients, and range from $5.50 for the Osaka Vegetables to $12.95 for the Hibachi Filet Mignon & Chicken, Hibachi Filet Mignon & Shrimp and Hibachi Filet Mignon & Scallops. Most dishes fall in the $7-$10 range.

Side orders of Fried Rice, Zucchini & Onions and Sweet Carrots can be had for $1.95. Drinks (bottled) are $1.50. The decor of the corner business features pale orange walls, square tan floor tiles, a dark brown panel ceilng, and is decorated with Japanese art prints and decor. A few plants also hang in windows. Tables and booths provide seating, and there is an outside patio. A four-seat "bar" is off of the main room.

The menu advises: "We cannot guarantee your food will be free from all traces of seafood if you are allergic. Please notify your server before you order. Thank you."

This business is located in the rebuilt wing of Victoria Square that burned on November 5, 2006. This space was previously the location of Bangkok Asian Foodland.

In February 2012, Osaka Express expanded into the adjacent suite previously operated as Siam Royal Thai Cuisine.
