Leatherheads

Leatherheads is the working title for a planned movie about the early days of college football, in pre-production in December 2006. A romantic comedy set in the 1920s, it is directed by George Clooney, and co-stars him with Renee Zellwiger. It has a 2008 release date. Several Clemson campus sites were scouted for possible location shooting, including the old gym in Holtzendorff Hall and the Fike Fieldhouse gymnasium. Filming was eventually conducted in Anderson and around the Greenville area.
