Kentucky Fried Chicken' was one of the earliest fast food operations to come to Clemson and its original 2,572 square foot location was on the Highway 123 By-Pass across the street and a little to the east of the Clemson train depot from (at least) the early 1970s. (This building most recently was Fuji Japanese Restaurant.) By 1987, it has relocated to a new location just off of the now-named Tiger Boulevard where it serves the customary KFC bill-of-fare. Always a popular stop on football Saturdays... It shares space with Long John Silver's, sharing both an address and phone number.

In 2010, Kentucky Fried Chicken has announced plans to reintroduce founder Col. Harlan Sanders' image back into its advertising campaigns.

As of July 2012, the original location, is being readied to open as Thai Spice Noodles & Rice with a target opening date of August 6.
