  • 1986: The Clemson drug / coaches scandal comes to a close on this date, when Jack Harkness, pleads guilty to charges of distributing steroids to athletes, and is given two suspended 18-month sentences, fined $1,000 and ordered to reimburse SLED for $1,000 for the agency's cost to extradite him back to South Carolina from Canada.   • 2007: Mens basketball team hosts Georgia Tech in Littlejohn at 4 p.m., telecast on RSN. Letterwinners Association holds tailgate in the IPTAY office prior to the game, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Tigers defeat the Yellowjackets, 75-74, to remain undefeated (16-0), the only unbeaten team in the nation as UCLA falls to the Oregon Ducks, 68-66. Swimming and Diving team in the Georgia Invitational in Athens. Men's tennis at the Orange Beach Classic, Orange Beach, Alabama.
  • 2008: Wayne Ellington's 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds left in overtime lifted the top-ranked Tar Heels to a 90-88 victory over 19th-ranked Clemson on Sunday night. Ellington finished with a career-high 36 points, none more dramatic than his pullup jumper from the left side of the key with the clock winding down.
  • 2009: Clemson defeats Alabama in Littlejohn Coliseum, 66-59, to push the Tigers' season record to 15-0.
