From the Clemson University Cox Plaza webpage:

Walter Cox Plaza is located between Tillman Hall and the Edgar A. Brown University Union, in the space formerly occupied by the Phantom Lot. The plaza is a popular meeting spot and is home to the University's Organization's Day in the Fall and Spring. Cox Plaza was made possible through senior gifts from the classes of 1997-1998 and 1998-1999. Each class has the opportunity to leave their mark on Clemson through a senior group gift.

Cox Plaza is named for President Emeritus Walter T. Cox.
