Interstate 85 (I-85) is an interstate highway in the southeastern United States. Its southern terminus is at an intersection with Interstate 65 in Montgomery, Alabama; its northern terminus intersects with Interstate 95 in Petersburg, Virginia, near Richmond, 668 miles. The segment in the state of South Carolina is 107 miles long, with exits numbered south to north. Clemson is located closest to exit 17. I-85 in South Carolina was completed in 1964, the first completed state portion of the national system.
