Tiger Boulevard is the common name for what was previously known as the US 123 By-Pass, constructed in the early 1960's to remove intercity traffic from the Old Greenville Highway through Clemson as part of the Lake Hartwell project. The ever-burgeoning highway strip was so named some time in the late 1980's.
