Talk:Ravenel's Bridge
From ClemsonWiki
The approach to this bridge is still extant....the road just sort of goes in to the lake. Head towards Seneca on 93 (past Death Valley & Kingsmore Stadium on left), go almost to traffic light at 123, and turn right. Milliken is straight ahead, and dead ends to left & right. To the right is the old bridge approach. -fowlerj
The bridge is visible again, but it can't possibly be in alignment with the road that goes into the lake at Milliken. Further, what is above water only looks like about half the bridge. When the river was flooded, was the bridge moved? Was there another approach on the Oconee County side? Either way, the bridge as it looks right now can't possibly line up with the approach from the Oconee side.
Re: last comment - Helene Riley's published photo book shows the bridge in use and the concrete portions are just short enough to match the concrete portions in the photo. Metal trusses account for most of the structure.
