  • 1986: Christmas comes two days late for the Tigers as they win a bowl game for the first time since the 1982 Orange Bowl. Clemson holds off a second-half rally by the Stanford Cardinals in the 42nd Mazda Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, to win 27-21. It is sweet icing on an 8-2-2 season, 5-1-1 in conference to reclaim the ACC crown. Post-season, the Tigers are ranked seventeenth in the Associated Press, nineteenth in the United Press International, and eighteenth in the USA Today.
  • 2005 - Twenty-third-ranked Clemson takes on the unranked Colorado Buffalos in the Champ Sports Bowl in Orlando, Florida, played in the Citrus Bowl stadium, only the second meeting between the two teams. The Tigers beat the Buffaloes, 19-10, to tie the all-time record, 1-1. Colorado won the first match, played in the 1957 Orange Bowl in Miami, 27-21. Clemson ends the 2005 season with a 8-4 record.
  • 2009: Clemson versus Kentucky in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Nashville, Tennessee, at 8:30 p.m. CST, broadcast on ESPN. Clemson snaps three year bowl loss streak, 21-13. C. J. Spiller sets several records.
